Malta Tennis Federation holds National Level 1 ITF coaches’ course
The Malta Tennis Federation is continuing its coach’s education programme by holding
National Level 1 ITF coaches’ course, the course is divided into a two-day mini-tennis course and a seven-day tennis course. The goal of the Level 1 course is to give candidates the skills required to introduce people to tennis through mini-tennis, to coach players up to junior competition level and also to promote tennis at a grass-roots level. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a minimum level of play (e.g. ability to rally / demonstrate basic strokes / feed balls to student) and undertake several exams including an individual lesson test, a group lesson test, a tennis playing / demonstration test and a written theory test.
The course is to be held over 4 weekends in May, 9 – 10 May Mini Tennis course, 16 – 17 May, 22,23 and 24 & 30th 31st May for the main course, the Mini-tennis course is directed to those interested in introducing tennis through mini-tennis, schoolteachers, sport leaders, tennis coaches, officials, etc and there will be no assessment of candidates. The Tennis course is a 7 days course (6 days of course and 1 day of assessment). Participants should have also attended the 2-day mini-tennis course making the course 9 days in total. This stage of the course is directed to those interested in promoting tennis at the grass roots levels up to the initial competition stage. The course is limited to a maximum 24 candidates.
Due to the limited number of places on the course Tennis Club supported applicants will be given priority. Individual Applicants wishing to apply for the course can download the application form and the course schedule.
